About

I graduated from Maryland Law School in 2013. Being passionate about using technology to revolutionize the practice of law, I first created a mobile app called the “Not Guilty App” to simplify navigation in Maryland courthouses. I then had a lightbulb moment when I realized the expungement process in Maryland could be automated. I applied my expertise in expungement law and created MDExpungement.com, a website that automates the expungement process. This site has been instrumental in generating over 119,000 expungement petitions since its inception in 2015.

My career includes roles at Maryland Legal Aid and the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS), where I developed a fully searchable database of cases on Maryland Judiciary Case Search. I spent four years at Harvard Law School's Access to Justice Lab where I was the Associate Director of Legal Technology and ran randomized controlled trials to ascertain which interventions in access to justice issues are effective and which are not. Most recently, I was the Innovator in Residence at the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law. I taught Coding for Lawyers and Cybersecurity law as well as developed bespoke applications to help the school and the students.

Currently, I run my own hybrid legal tech law firm where we build software to automate the law as well as represent clients in a handful of niche areas.
